2021 Road Trip Night 6

Highway 2 across Montana is long and flat with only the occasional small town to be found. The Havre, Montana was a great stop for the night, especially since this gave us the chance to stop at the only Walmart we saw between Mitchell and Glacier. We always try to carry 4-5 gallons of water, bread, and peanut butter just in case we are somewhere without amenities and we take every opportunity to replenish our supplies.

We stayed at the Fresno Reservoir. We got there as it was getting dark and noticed a couple of other RV's (although no one seemed to be in them that night). We stayed at the Kremlin campground with the GPS coordinates 48.625516, -109.986827 run by Fish an Wildlife. It was free and there was a bathroom but no other amenities. Nearby, there is another campground called the Walleye Unlimited campground run by a fishing club. It has free WiFi and is found at GPS coordinates 48.595100, -109.954200. The fishing club asks for a donation for them to help maintain their facilities. We chose to stay at Kremlin since we didn't need to use WiFi, however if someone did, the Walleye Unlimited is a great option.

Even in late July, this spot was a comfortable to camp with a nice breeze coming off the reservoir. We were especially grateful after the warm nights that we had previously.
